Perceval's Story

Educated at Harrow School and Trinity College, Cambridge where he studied Modern Languages and Economics Special for service in the diplomatic corps. He spent four years in the Foreign Office in both Germany and London before gaining a temporary Commission in the Royal Field Artillery in 1914, initially joining 1st N Midland Reserve Brigade RFA.

Splendid he passed into the light

Percy accompanied the 59th Division to France in March 1917 and was promoted to temporary Captain and was constantly in action with 'A' Battery 296th Bde. Royal Field Artillery, which on several occasions he commanded. He was killed by a shell on Sept 23 1917, when changing positions on the Cambridge Road east of Ypres, during the third battle.
