Frederick's Story
My Grandad enlisted in the Dorset Regiment on 11th July 1905. After training he was sent to Madras India Nov 1908. His length of service ended and he entered the army reserves 5/5/1914. When war was declared he was recalled and sent to France. On 22/10/14 he was captured by the Germans at Le Basse. For the rest of the war he was interned Munster LagerII Poenbahn. I remember my dad telling me grandad was reluctant to talk about what happened in the camp but he did have nightmares quite regularly and had some stories of cruelty paticularly to Russian POW's.
