Alfred's Story

Alfred was killed in battle on the Somme 17th September 1916 age 25. He was my great uncle and I am in possession of a very moving letter from him from the trenches during his service. Alfred's brother Fred served in the Royal Armillary Regiment in the Western front and survived.
