Serjeant Stannard (who is actually seated front right) was in the 1/4th Suffolk Regiment. Family Rumour has it that he was gassed, and he does in fact have a CWWGC headstone. He died in the Ipswich hospital on the 8th July 1916. He was awarded the Victory Medal, the British Medal, and the 1914 Star.
