Albert's Story

Albert was my mother's brother, and on the occasions that she spoke of him to me, she said that he was killed in action in Flanders in an explosion, and that there did not seem to be any other detail. I have subsequently traced further information, and found that he was in 1st Battalion, Highland Light Infantry with rank of Private and was killed in action on 19/12/1914, the theatre of war being France & Flanders.
