Messach's Story
Messach died just six weeks after arriving in France, aged 17, being shot in an advance across no-man's land alongside his two brothers Edward and John, who had to obey the 'don't stop for anyone' order. His grandmother's favourite son, he is remembered both in the war grave at Merville, France, and Penmynydd Church, Anglesey. Proudly and firmly remembered 90 years on, along with his many comrades who died in the same action, 20th January, 1916.
