Albert's Story

His sister never forgot him

Albert Howard was born in Liverpool in 1901, younger brother to Elizabeth Howard. Like so many others, he was to join up under-age, and was to be mortally wounded on the outskirts of Arras in October 1918. Taken to the casualty clearing station at Le Bac du Sud, he was to die of his wounds, and be laid to rest with his comrades, and with his former enemies, in the cemetery that bears the same name. Elizabeth was never to forget her brother all her life.
