Richard's Story
Richard Justice is a member of my family tree I have found. He was the first born son of Richard and Julia Justice (nee McCarthy) from the Isle of Dogs, London. He died aged 24 whilst serving for his country, he was a Petty Officer Stoker (service number K/742) on the H.M.S. Recruit, a Destroyer, which was torpedoed in the North Sea, near the Galloper Lightship, on the 1st of May 1915.
Although he is just a name and a reference on my family tree, we are proud of his dedication to his country, he is remembered on the Chatham Naval Memorial. And is remembered by myself, and my family.
