Walter's Story
In 1917 Walter returned to Ypres from England after going home for his wife Emily Elizabeth Funeral in April, his mother in law had died in the March.They had both died of the Flu. Walter took his little girl Ada Ivy aged two to his brother Edward and his wife Maria in Liverpool to ask them to look after her until he returned. He never did. On the 15th July 1917 he was gased at Hell fire corner aged 32. He had been laying railway track so the supplies could be taken to the front.

In 2007 we visited his grave on 15th July.
