On the 18th of Aug. 1918 the second battle of the Somme, East of Mailly Maillet the enemy having first shelled the outpost line, attempted a daylight raid on the left front of the 2nd battalion that's when George was killed by a shell only is wallet was found he is remembered with honour at the VIS-EN-ARTOIS MEMORIAL Pas de Calais, France.
