George's Story
This is my grandfather, George Jones who was one of three sons. One of which used to live in Abergavenny named Arthur. George married Mary-Jane Lewis, who was a widow and had one daughter named Laura Rebecca. His father William Jones was a draymen.
They lived in Newfoundland Road in Cardiff. He was a sergeant (number 627) Royal field artillery. He served in France. And was honourably discharged due to war wounds. He was disabled in the great war. After being discharged he opened a shop in either canton or Grangetown, Cardiff. The shop was called "G.Jones" it sold fruit and vegetables and fish. He died aged 54 due to war injuries. He is buried with his mother Susan Jones in cathays cemetery in Cardiff.
I have spent time researching him but have come to a dead end. I am hoping some one will have more information for me. Please contact me.
