William's Story
He was killed in action during the second battle of Ypres on the 13th of May 1914, it was around this time that the Germans started using gas and this may have been his fate.
Wiiliam was a boy soldier prior to WW1 and was one of the first to go to war.
My mother was two years old when her father was killed.
In the recent BBC programme "My Family at War" featuring Matthew Kelly it was stated that his great uncle was injured on the same day as my granfather was killed and close to the same place namely "Mousetrap Farm"
Also there is a likeness between the last image of William and the BBC world corresponent Michael Wooldrige, I often wonder if there is a connection?
