Herbert's Story
My Grandad was awarded the Miltary Medal for bravery in the field when he rescued a wounded officer from no man's land. He was with the officer for three days and nights before bringing him safely back to home lines. I have his medal and the newspaper entry from the London Times where he was mentioned.
