robert's Story

Robert Arthur Kirby was a direct descendant of the old Kirby/Kirkby family of Medbourne, Leicester from the elder line, of ancient viking stock back to AD480 in Denmark. This elder line came from Furness in Cumbria descending from Walter de Kirkby the eldest son of lord William de Kirkby who was the grandson of Orm fitz Ailward.

For many a long year the family had lost him, a ranger of the north.

Many have given their lives in the cause of peace and the family remember him.
