James's Story

One of six brothers and two sisters. All boys followed dad (and mam) into the coal mines. Jim hated the mines and signed up without telling his family. We suspect he was underage but was undeterred. He died at the battle of Loos. He is special to us for many reasons but especially because my late father was his namesake. Thank you Uncle Jim and everyone else who fought so bravely. You will never be forgotten.
