Patrick's Story

he had hand burns from use of Lewis Gun on 4 occasions

Patrick Duffy served in the 9th Btn Royal Scots. Born in Govan 28 March 1899. Joined up 1917. Records show he had hand burns from use of Lewis Gun on 4 occasions and a commendation for courage . He received gun shot wounds to the abdomen and R thigh and was taken to 63rd Casualty station and died of wounds on 28th July 1918. He was buried in Senlis French National Cemetery. Patrick Duffy was my mums brother. I never met him, he died long before I was born. A number of years ago I managed to visit his grave. I have never found his medals.
