's Story
George Squirrell was my grandfather and served in France from 1915, in the Suffolk Regiment which was his county regiment.I am unsure of his role in the regiment but his rank was a Pte.this is from part of his Army record and also from one of his medals.I remember my grandfather very well as a small and very smart man.Like many of his generation he spoke very little of his experiences in France but i do know he suffered from the gas attacks during and after the war.I would like to find more information about the role of the Suffolk Regiment in WW1 are there any records about them?
