Entered the conflict in France in July 1915 with 88 Brigade
Wounded in a retreat on 25th March 1918
Extract/summary of letter sent to Major Amy's wife by Reginald Lyne Stephens, the Major's Batman:
15th Apr 1918
Amy now in The London Hospital (Whitechapel). Amy's foot on which they operated in France, big toe taken off and part of the second toe and he may or may not lose the others on the same foot. Injuries in shoulder and arm are slight. Major Amy will be in bed for two months and six months before okay. Mrs Amy staying with Major Marshall, The Homestead, Hillcrest Road, Sydenham.
