Robert Frank's Story
Great Uncle, Bob's (Robert Frank) picture always stood on his parents sideboard, along with the death plaque sent them. He was known as Frank and had been born 29th December 1893, while his parents were resident in Hampstead Heath.

Parents, Thomas and Annie, nee Woolgar, later returned to Hove, East Sussex and remained resident there for the rest of their lives.
As far as I know only Robert Frank, and his brother, Charles Albert, (my grandfather) joined the army. Frank joined the 9th Battalion of the Royal Sussex Regiment the Hove Roll of Hour records that he was single, employed as a barman and enlisted on 12 September 1914.
He died on Feb 20th 1916 and is buried in Belgium.
