Walter's Story
Both my Grandfathers died before I was born. They both fought in WWI, my paternal grandfather being shot at El-Arish and my maternal grandfather was gassed on the front line. They both survived the war but I know little of their experiences. My maternal Grandfather, who I believe survived Ypres, kept a lot of memorabilia which is all in a trunk at my father's house. There are war diaries, photos, postcards, love letters and even the jacket of his uniform and a bayonet. It is a real treasure trove, very personal and poignant.

Elanne, My great grandfather was a captain in WW1. His name was Walter Scott. He moved to Ireland from Edinburgh circa 1930.
Is there any chance it could be this man? Many thanks.
