Jeremiah's Story

Dad often spoke of his older brother Jeremiah who enlisted in the Kings Liverpool Regiment and was later transferred to the Royal Warwickshire Regiment.

Pte 325136 Jeremiah Reid - The uncle I never knew!

Sadly, Jeremiah died on the morning of 28 March 1918 in France in Mons Rush (buried Flanders).

My sister and I travelled to France in search of the grave and found it in Roye British Cemetery.

My Dad was only 5 years old when he last saw his brother Jeremiah who was sent across to France but never returned.

Dad and the family grieved for you all those years and never forgot you. We will never forget you.
