Thomas's Story
He Did His Duty
I always knew my grandfather Thomas Keenan was killed in WW1, imagine my surprise when after placing my family tree on ancastry .co.uk a distant relative sent me an e-mail saying; Look in the library for a newspaper article, which I did and under "for King & Country" an article quoted my great grandad also called Thomas Keenan proudly saying, "Six of my seven sons have worn khaki, two are now dead, two are in hospital, another one has been discharged due to his wounds and another son died in 1905 after service in India. Even my grandfathers daughter who is now 103 years old and as bright as a button did not know her other uncles had died. Hopefully others may read this article and I may then find the relatives of the other brothers James, Edward and William Keenan who survived the war, they may wish to meet out aunt who is 104 on the 29th December 2008.
