Charles Henry's Story
My great grandfather charles lowth died on christmas day 1917 which i find very sad. There were no battles at the time but he died of wounds. I would like to know what wounds and why. My dad was only eight and his sister was 10 and i believe they had a very hard life due to having no father. My dads sister committed suicide at the age of 16 which was probably connected so i think the pain and distress of war went on for many years. Charles Lowth was in his 30s when he enrolled in the army and i believe that the troops rioted and actually didn't want to fight. My g grandfather became c s m before he died and i am very proud of him although his wife and children who were left behind in the post war years had a bad time serviving.
My dad thomas stanley lowth never talked about his dad or his sister and i only found out about them when my own father had died. He was very proud however of his own grandfather who was the MP for Ardwick in manchester at the time of Kerr hardy.
I would like to know why my grandfather died so close to the end of the war . Is there any medical records that i could see or have a copy of?
