Matthew's Story

Matthew Dugan was my grabdfather

GRANDAD WAS WOUNDED IN THE STOUMAC FIRST WAR.HE HAD A SKN GRAFT TO HIS WOUND WITH SKIN TAKEN FROM HIS THIGH. HE WORKED AT SILVERWOOD COAL MINE IN THE FORTIES AND FIFTIES UNTIL HE DIED ,I THINK IN NINTEEN FITY TWO. I AM TOLD BY MY MOTHER,ONE OF HIS DAUGHTERS,THAT HE WAS BORN AT COACHFORD IN THE COUNTY OF CORK IRELAND
