im writing about my grandad who was lost in action and my nan had a teligrame to say he was feared dead , then a time later he turned up on the door steap in full army uniform with th sand in his boots , he could not swim but he held on to the boat all the way home , for years my nan kept the sand in anenvolope on her purse , and when she died she still held this envolope close to her in her handbag xx
