Henniker William Strutt's Story

Henniker was my Great Uncle. The first born of Henniker and Elizabeth and brother to four sisters and three brothers. He was born in Limehouse and in 1908 married Florence. Henniker was in the 20th Hussars, stationed at Holmstone Camp, Lydd, Kent. His Regiment number 5472.

Hennikers Story - we will remember.

He died on 30th October 1914, in Ypres.

Back home, my Uncle Harry, the son of Hennikers eldest sister, recalled that he was small boy at this time and how he would watch the warships flying over London.

Henniker and Florence had 2 daughters and a son, all aged under five at the time of their fathers death.
