Norman's Story

I have only hazy memories of my grandfather - as children we always had to keep quiet around him and he was a quiet man and never spoke of his experiences.

He fought at Gallipoli and was shot in the head, the bullet exiting behind his ear. As a result he lost his memory until someone in his regiment recognised him on the hospital ship. When he recovered he was sent to France and survived - otherwise I wouldn't be here to write this!

I regret I do not have dates as my Mother is on holiday and I shan't get this information until she returns
