John's Story

Sapper J. Gillett, Royal Engineers, killed in heavy fighting on The Somme on March 27th, 1918. He enlisted on December 15th, 1916 and went to the front the following June. He left a wife Mary Ann and four children, May, John, Harold and Evelyn, who was only six.
