Frederick's Story
Frederick Ringwood was my Grandfather (Dick)'s brother and died of wounds in march 1918 aged 19. He served with the 1st Btn King's Royal Rifle Corp. Obviously I never knew him but it is clear from his wartime letters home that my Grandfather Dick had a great love for his younger brother and spent some time searching for him in France in 1918 while himself serving in the 5th Dragoon Guards. I regret to say I know nothing of Fred's wartime service other than the location of his war grave. My Grandfather survived the war and lived to good age.
