Lawrence's Story
My grandfathers half brother, Lawrance Devaney, joined 2nd Battalion, South Lancashire Regiment, 11/08/1915. He fell at the Somme 3rd July 1916, age 19. He is remembered on the Thiepval memorial. He was awarded the Victiory, British War, and 1915 Star medals.
