Henry's Story
Henry Harris was my great uncle. He enlisted in the Brecnock Battalion (C company Crickhowell) sometime in 1914, allocated number 2087. He departed from Southampton on 3 December 1914 for India. When he arrived at Bombay, the battallion was diverted back to Aden. In August 1915, they embarked for Bombay (Mumbai) and spent the rest of WW1 as a garrison battalion at Mhow. He was awarded the 1914/15 star, Bristish War medal and Victory medal.
