William's Story
Always remembered
This is my Great Great Uncle William Christie. He was in the 6th Black Watch and was killed in action in an attack on High Wood on the Somme on 30th July 1916. He is buried at Caterpillar Valley Cemetery and my dad has visited his grave. His regimental number was 2018 and we have his dog tag, medals, some pictures of him and postcards he sent home when he was in the trenches. He was from Perth and he was not married but he had lots of brothers, sisters and half-brothers and half-sisters. I was given the middle name of Christie when I was born in 2000 as he was not able to pass his name on and I am very proud to have him as an ancestor.
