Harold Thomas's Story
My Father served at the Battle of Mons 1914, his war medals have recently come into my possession, after reading about the conditions the men fought in I feel so very very proud of him, I just wish I had asked him more about the war, but all I know was that he was taken a prisoner of war, where and when I do not know. I only knew this because he had a number tattooed on his arm, I remember I did try to talk about this to him but he refused to talk about it. If anyone can help me find out more information. where he may have been in prison and when, I would be very grateful. I do have his army number and know he was in the machine gunner corp. He gave us a wonderful family life. I am proud to say he was my Father.
