Horace's Story
Horace was a cousin of my grandfather. He first enlisted at Chelsea in the London Regiment, but later transferred to the 5th Battalion the South Wales Borderers. He died of wounds on April 22nd 1918 and is buried at Wimereux Communal Cemetery just outside Calais. He was an only son, and his name is enscribed not only on the Creeting St Peter war memorial in Suffolk, but also on the nearby grave of his parents, Shepherd and Mary Reason.
