Edward Romaine's Story

From the Newmarket Journal - Trooper Edward Romanine Thompson died at a casualty clearing station in France on the 25th February from gun-shot wounds received in action.

In a sympathetic letter to Mrs Thompson, the Rev. W.A.E Ker, chaplain, writes that he buried her son in a quiet little cemetary near the clearing station, and assures her that she has his truest sypathy, as have all the brave women of England who at this time are called upon to sacrifice so much.
