Charles's Story
Mrs Chambers, of no.5 Railway Terrace, has received the following letter from the military authorities with regards to her son, Private Charles Neil Chambers, who was attached to the 1st Battalion,Dorset Regiment, and who has been missing since the Battle of Mons:-
Porthcawl Soldier`s Death
"It is my painful duty to inform you that no further news having been received relative to 9483 Private Charles Neil Chambers, 1st Battalion Dorset Regiment, who has been missing Since October 22,1914, the Army Council have been regretfully constrained to conclude that he is dead, and that his death took place on the 22nd October,1914 (or since). I am to express to you the sympathy of the Army Council."
All enquiries possible have been made through the Press by the bereaved mother but have failed to garher any information.

No additional memories have been submitted
