Frank's Story

Frank Bluett, my Grandfather, enlisted in December 1915 and served in France in the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. He contracted trench fever, and after recuperation was transferred to the Labour Corps and finally discharged in August 1919.

He was too old for active service in WW2, but became a civilian worker collecting scrap metal and trasporting it by lorry to foundries and factories for recycling into war materials and machinery.
