Albert's Story
Buried at Fricourt
My Great Uncle died on the first day of the Battle of the Somme at Fricourt. I found his grave last year in the British Cemetery on the Bray Road and brought some of the soil back to return to his home town of Middlesbrough where his name is engraved on the war memorial plaques outside Albert Park. His New Testament Bible was found in his breast pocket and returned by Corporal Potter to our family. Would love to receive any other memories of my Great Uncle please.
