Ernest's Story

The last memory my father had of his father was when he was home on leave. As a boy of 6 he remembers being lifted up onto the table and being allowed to hold his fathers rifle. He never saw him again. Grandad ws killed on the 18th April 1917.

he has no grave. His name is on the wall at the Thiepval Memorial.

I didn't know my grandad but he is my hero.
