Peter's Story

My grandad was born in December, 1899. He was a boy drummer in the Black Watch Regiment. I am sure he lied about his age so that he could join up. I can't imagine a young boy being subjected to the horrors of WW1 France. He lived till he was 78 years old, but spoke very little about his time during the 'Great War'. I am very, very proud of him. His own son, my Uncle, was killed in Holland in January, 1945. He was a piper in the Cameronians. My family are very proud of him too.
