Francis's Story

Born at Canny Hill, Bishop Auckland in 1888. He joined the 5th DLI and served in Francis until he transferred to the Royal Engineers. He was invalided out of the army in Jan 1917. He raise 2 families before dying at the ripe old age on 70 in August 1958 at Etherley Dene.
