John's Story

This man enlisted over age and was promoted to Staff Serj on his appointment. He and his son enlisted together and his son, my grandfather survived. John died of wounds in France, the story was a group died or were wounded after being hit by a shell whilst working on a wagon. He was a self educated man holding the title of electrician and I am proud he did what he did.

Our light, our pride, called and did not shirk despite his advanced age.
