John's Story
My Granny Jessie Buchan was a young woman when her mother died before the war (centre). Her brothers John VC far right David second right and Francis third right were all killed. David the father received the VC from the king in a private audience . My family never forget the sacrifice. We have all visited their war graves and planted heather, a little of their home land. John's VC was donated to the Argyll and Southerland Highland museum in Stirling and it is displayed with such pride. My Granpa married Jessie and I have his photo album of the first world war and his diaries . He never talked of the war.
