Albert's Story

"You are very lucky son, I never knew my father." That's what my dad used to tell me often. My Grandfather and father shared the same name, Albert. The village or town of Albert in France is where he fell on the 1st day of July 1916 The battle of the Somme the blackest day in history. I console myself with the the thought, unlike others, his suffering lasted mere minutes !
