Gilbert's Story
Gilbert was my Great uncle, older brother of my grandfather, Sydney Ricmond Pratt. He was originally in the 5thW. Yorks regiment, but transferred to the Northumberland Fusiliers. Gilbert was killed in the battle for Arras. We have the original telegram notifying the family of his death on the 5th June 1917. We also have a hand written account of Gilberts death from an Edward Daly, written from the front and dated 4/7/1917.
