Alfred Harry's Story
Private Alfred Urwin, No 7833, 1st Bn., was my grandfather's younger brother, a joiner by trade. He was born in Whitby and moved to Ilford about 1900. He married Emma Hoddinott about 1907 and had three children, Dorothy, Thomas and Queenie. He died on 21 October 1914 and is commemorated at Le Touret Memorial in France. His grave is not known.
I am still seeking his photograph.
