William's Story
He was killed in an attack on Mount sur L'Ouevre near Cambrai
He joined the 7th Battalion Dublin Fusiliers in 1914 and took part in the landing at Suvla Bay,later served with that Battalion in Salonika and was attached to the 23rd Royal Fusiliers after promotion to Second Lieutenant. He was killed in action on 30th September 1918 along with one other officer and 64 other ranks who were in an attack on a German strongpoint on Mont sur l'Ouvres near Cambrai. They are all buried in a small cemetery at Noyelles sur L'Escaut from where the attack was launched.
