Colin's Story
Never forgotten
On the 28th of July 1918, 10 soldiers from 4/5 Battalion, Black Watch, were killed in action. A few days later the French took command of the area where the Black Watch had been fighting and because of the bravery they noted, they raised a cairn on the sight of the furthest advanced soldier (who was in 4/5 battalion). My Great Uncle is a hero to me and whether he was the furthest advanced or not (nobody seems to know) his sacrifice will never be forgotten.
