Alfred Frank's Story

Sgt. Alfred Frank Saunders 38857, 11th Bn., Suffolk Regiment who died age 25 on 29 April 1918. He died of wounds in a medical unit in the Lijssenthoek area, and is buried in theLlijssenthoek Military Cemetery, plot XXVIII, Row E, Grave 3A.

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and on the St. James' School Roll of Honour

He resided with his parents at 1 Gratton St., Cheltenham before the Great War and he left a widow, Mrs Elizabeth Hannah Saunders, and two children, at 1 River View, Dwygyfylchi, Penmaenmawr, North Wales
