Penelope's Story

Leonard Cocker was my Great Uncle. He won the Military medal and died on the 6th of October 1918

His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to approve the award of the Military Medal for bravery in the field to the undermentioned Non-commissioned officers and men.

Pte Leonard Cocker M M Machine Gun Corps Signal Section awarded M M April 1918 died of wounds on Sunday. He was 20 years of age, he enlisted when 17, he formally worked at the Owl Mill Lees. His home was 15 Back Gibraltar st Oldham.
